Who are we?
The Discipleship Youth Retreat Team (DYRT) - and we pronounce it "dirt" - is a Raider Catholic ministry that focuses on preparing and administering retreats for youth in middle school and high school within the Diocese of Lubbock and the surrounding dioceses. Our primary purpose is to ensure that every retreater knows that God desires a relationship with them.
At retreats, youth are able to see God's love for them reflected among the staffers. They are able to learn about His love and the richness of their Catholic faith through talks, activities, skits, discussions, and reflections led by our staffers.
Our staffers are VIRTUS certified and have a strong desire to share their Catholic faith with those they encounter. By being a part of our retreat team, staffers receive leadership opportunities, spiritual growth, and authentic friendships founded on a relationship with God.
If you are a student interested in joining DYRT, we invite you to join us at a weekly meeting!
Meetings are 8 p.m. every Monday in the John Saleh Catholic Student Center located on Main St. and Ave. W.

Since the Spring of 2004, our ministry has successfully planned and staffed over 100 retreats as well as four diocesan youth rallies, and has evangelized to thousands of youth in the Diocese of Lubbock and the Diocese of San Angelo.
We cannot wait to get to know you and to share with you our passion for Christ. There is no better feeling in the world than seeing the faces of the youth at a DYRT retreat and knowing that they are having a blast while learning about our faith.
